RingCentral Set, Change, or Block Caller ID

Summary

Setup caller ID on RingCentral desktop or mobile app. This is helpful for individuals who support a "main line"/queue and/or administrators who prefer callbacks to a main line, rather than their direct number.

Body

  2. Click Single Sign on, enter TWU email and password

For Desktop and Mobile Calls using the RingCentral App

Select the direct number to be displayed on your Profile page and on Caller ID display of a person you are calling.

  1. Sign In to the RingCentral desktop application
  2. In the lower left corner, click the settings icon that looks like a gear.
  3. Click Phone
  4. In the Caller ID, click the dropdown box and select a number other from the list or  select Blocked from the list.

Block RingCentral direct line on mobile device

  1. Open RingCentral app and click the profile picture icon
  2. Tap Phone
  3. Under Default Caller ID. Select Blocked from the list.

***Important Notes***

Do not try to set up or activate your RingCentral account while using Remote Desktop. This will not work.

When placing a call off campus, caller ID may or may not be processed by all phone carriers. When leaving a message, be sure to include the TWU phone number for a return call.

If you want to use a different number for your caller ID, it must be a "Company Number." Any number assigned to an individual (e.g. a person who answers a mainline as a person, rather than a queue) can't be used as a company number and therefore can't be used for Caller ID.
