Teaching & Learning with Technology

Our office works with all instructors to incorporate technology into courses and provides pedagogical and technical workshops for a variety of technologies and instructional approaches. We serve as the point-of-contact and seek approval for off-campus face-to-face courses and educational activities offered outside Texas. We also provide information and administrative services to future and current distance learners.

Universal Design

Universal Design helps instructors implement their courses to be usable by all students, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaption or accommodation. Instructors using universal design increase usability, engagement, and access to content for everyone. Therefore, the goal of Universal Design is for instructors to use a variety of teaching methods to remove any barriers to learning and give all students equal opportunities for success.

Quality Matters

Quality Matters (QM) is a nationally recognized, faculty-driven peer-review process used to ensure the quality of online and blended course design. The Quality Matter Rubric, a set of standards dedicated to the continuous improvement of online learning and course design, can be used in a variety of ways to help instructors develop, redesign, and assess their online and hybrid courses.
