NetSupport School - Approved or Restricted Application list

To add Approved or Restricted computer Applications

  1. On the left toolbar click the window (Applications) icon 
  2. In the Start menu, navigate to the application. Drag and drop the icon into the Approved or Restricted Application list box. 
  3. Repeat as necessary.
Approved Applications - The student is only able to run the applications specified on this list.
Restricted Applications - The student is unable to run the applications specified on this list.

To add Approved or Restricted Applications such as Microsoft Edge, Windows Calculator, and other Windows Store Apps

  1. Click + in the Approved or Restricted Applications area. 
  2. Click Windows Store Application
  3. Navigate to the appropriate application and click.
  4. Click OK. Repeat these steps as necessary.

If Approved only is active, a green check mark appears by each student's icon.

If Block Restricted is active, a red x appears by each student's icon.

To apply Approved or Restricted Applications

Approved or restricted applications will apply to all students unless specific students are selected. In the bottom toolbar check Approved Only or Block Restricted.

To end Approved or Restricted Applications

Removing approved or restricted application limits will apply to all students unless specific students are selected. In the bottom toolbar check Allow All

To remove specific Approved or Restricted Applications:

  1. Select application listed in Approved or Restricted section.
  2. In the upper right corner of the Approved or Restricted section, click x.
  3. The NetSupport School dialog appears. Click Yes.

To remove all restrictions

In the bottom toolbar check Allow All

Instructors can determine if a website is approved or restricted in NetSupport School.
NetSupport School is available in computer classrooms to enhance instructor / student interaction, as well as providing monitoring capabilities for the instructor.
When instructors use groups, they can utilize features for that group only. Features include interactive whiteboard, show, scan, view, exhibit, and audio.
When instructors perform a Show, the students’ mice and keyboards are automatically locked. Instructors can lock students’ keyboards and mice at any time.

Instructors can view, save, and print the web history for any or all connected students.
NetSupport School software is available in several computer classrooms. This software allows an instructor to monitor and control classroom computer activities.
