NetSupport School - Interactive Whiteboard

Access the Whiteboard

  1. On the toolbar click Full Mode.
    Note: If Basic Mode appears, the system is already in Full Mode.
  2. Click the Whiteboard icon on the left-hand side of the window.
  3. The Whiteboard dialog box appears. Click OK.

Using and Saving the Whiteboard

  1.  Use the range of annotation tools to highlight the screen and add any stored graphics. Select the relevant icons at the bottom of the window.
  2. If required save the content of the whiteboard for later use. Select the File icon at the bottom of the window and select Save Whiteboard.
    Note: Only instructors can save the Whiteboard file. It is recommended to save to X-Drive. Please refrain from saving to the computer.

To load an image and show in the whiteboard

  1. Choose the File icon at the bottom of the Control window and select Load Image.
  2. In the bottom toolbar check Show.
  3. The content of the whiteboard will appear on the student screens. The instructor can continue to annotate the whiteboard in real time.

To remove the whiteboard from student screens

In the bottom toolbar deselect Show.

Whiteboard Leader

When students are viewing the whiteboard, they cannot initially annotate the screen themselves. However, the instructor can allow a student to be the Whiteboard Leader. This activates the annotation options at the selected student machine. The instructor can switch control to any of the other students by selecting their icon in the student list.

  1. Right click the student icon in the Students list.
  2. Click Make Leader. The Student can now use the available tools to add content to the whiteboard.
  3. To switch to another student as leader, repeat step 1 & 2. 

To remove leader status from all students

Right click the current leader student icon in the Students list and click Make Leader to deselect.

Instructors can determine if a website is approved or restricted in NetSupport School.
NetSupport School is available in computer classrooms to enhance instructor / student interaction, as well as providing monitoring capabilities for the instructor.
When instructors use groups, they can utilize features for that group only. Features include interactive whiteboard, show, scan, view, exhibit, and audio.
When instructors perform a Show, the students’ mice and keyboards are automatically locked. Instructors can lock students’ keyboards and mice at any time.

The Student Toolbar may be visible students. Features include available websites and applications (if instructor has limited), access to available websites and applications, as well as a chat and help features.
Instructors can view, save, and print the web history for any or all connected students.
NetSupport School software is available in several computer classrooms. This software allows an instructor to monitor and control classroom computer activities.
