Forward TWU GMail (email) to another email address

While it is possible to forward TWU GMail to another email account, it is not recommended. TWU GMail provides unlimited storage and messages are more likely to arrive in the inbox, rather than spam. Smart phones allow for multiple email accounts, and there is a GMail app that can act as a mobile email client.

How to forward TWU GMail to another email address

  1. Log in to TWU Gmail
  2. At the top right, click the gear icon.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  5. In the “Forwarding” section, click Add a forwarding address.
  6. Enter the email address to forward to and click Next.
  7. Click Proceed.
  8. For security, a verification email is sent to the forwarding address.
    1. Open the other email account and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team. User may need to check the Spam folder.
    2. Click the verification link in that email.
  9. In the Gmail account, reload the page in the web browser.
  10. On the same Forwarding and POP/IMAP page in Settings, select Forward a copy of incoming mail and verify the email address is in the drop-down menu.
  11. In the second drop-down menu, choose the option for what Gmail does with messages after they’re forwarded, such as keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox (recommended) or archive Gmail’s copy.
  12. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
