Managed Workstations and Patch Management

Features

The patch management service enables Technology staff to deploy critical security patches to computers across campus.

On Saturdays, TWU computers are rebooted, allowing Technology to manage the computers as needed. For this reason, users should not power off their work machines. TWU IT Solutions utilizes power reducing settings for all machines to mitigate the environmental impact.

Managed workstations offer enhanced data security, while offering increased computing productivity and provides optimization from an operational perspective to maximize a user’s computing power, and minimize any threat from surfing the web, email attachments, etc. This more reliable computing environment also comes with a centralized management of computer hardware and software throughout the four-year life cycle of computers that participate in the program.
