Campus Emergency Phones

General Emergency Phone Information:

Emergency Phones can be used to request assistance or an escort, report suspicious activity or crime in progress, and any other form of emergency. The phones connect automatically to the TWU Department of Public Safety by pushing a button or lifting the handset. The Department of Public Safety monitors these phones 7 days a week, 24 hours a day including all holidays.

In case of an emergency:

  • Utilize any emergency phone located on the TWU campuses.
  • Dial 911 from any campus phone.
  • Cell phone users dial (940) 898-2911 when on campus.
  • Cell phone users dial 911 for off-campus emergencies.
  • The Department of Public Safety will ask for a name, location, and a description of the situation that requires assistance.

Helpful tips:

  • Be aware of the locations of the nearest emergency phones when on campus.
  • Report any malfunction of an emergency phone to the TWU Department of Public Safety.
  • These phones are to request assistance from TWU DPS and should not be used for general questions or assistance. Please visit http://www.twu.edu/dps/service-programs.asp for more information.

Code Blue Phone are located around campus in the form of a maroon pillar with a blue light located at the top.

Elevator Phones are located in elevators for use in emergency situations that occur while operating an elevator.

Red Ring Down Phones are located at strategic locations in buildings around campus.
