Connect a new AMX controller to RMS

Configure RMS Connection Settings

  1. Open the AMX controller setup page by entering the controller IP address in a web browser.
  2. Log on as administrator (on a new system, the default password ispassword ).
  3. Under Web Controls click RMS​ or Resource-Management-Suite (if neither option is listed, contact the installer programmer to have RMS added to the system).
  4. Enter the building abbreviation and room number in the Client Gateway Name field.
  5. Enter http://rms/rms in the RMS Server URL field.
  6. Enter password in the RMS Server Password field.
  7. Click Enable.
  8. Click Test Connection to ensure the controller can access the RMS server.
  9. Click Save to save the settings and start the connection process. The controller will connect within 60 seconds and the new room should show up in RMS within a few minutes.

Register Gateway in RMS

  1. Open RMS in a web browser
  2. Click the Management tab
  3. Click on Client Gateways
  4. Under the Group heading, select the building for the room being added
  5. If a Client Gateway already exists for the room, select it and click Delete (the old gateway must be offline to be deleted)
  6. Under the Group heading, select Unassigned Client Gateways
  7. Select the new room and click Assign
  8. Expand the location tree and select the location corresponding the new room
  9. Click Next
  10. Ensure Assign Client Gateway is selected and click OK
