Connecting to a TWU desktop from off campus (Remote Desktop)

Effective October 1, 2018, two-factor authentication will be required to access VPN.

Step 1: Connect to TWU VPN with Duo Security Two-Factor Authentication

Before connecting to a TWU desktop from any device, both Cisco Anyconnect and DUO Authentication must be installed and authenticated (instructions).

Step 2: Open Remote Desktop

  1. From the start menu, select Windows Accessories and double-click the Remote Desktop icon. If Remote Desktop icon is not on the desktop, click the start button and in the search box type mstsc.
  2. Input the desktop TWU asset tag number followed by twu.fs.dew.twu (The asset tag number is the tag with the barcode.) For example: 000000twu.fs.dew.twu
  3. Click Connect. A login screen will appear. Use fs\username and your Portal password to log in to the remote computer. If a message pops up about the identity of the remote computer due to a problem with its security certificate, check the box that says “Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer”
  4. Click yes.
