Shibboleth is an authentication system that provides single sign-on (SSO) capabilities to protected online resources in web applications allowing web sites to make informed authorization decisions for individual access in a privacy-preserving manner. Secure web sites at TWU require account holders to log on with their Portal ID and password. SSO authentication is one method of providing account holders with secure access to web systems.
