Summary
A "Portal account" is required for all students, faculty and staff at TWU to log-on to the network and all other systems. This is created on "Pioneer Portal," our intranet site, hence the name "Portal account."
Body
Students can create a Portal account once they have applied to the university through ApplyTexas.org using the Student ID received from TWU, which takes 3-5 business days. Employees and Faculty can create a Portal account as soon as their department enters a PTF into our HR system.
- Navigate to the TWU website and choose Pioneer Portal on the bottom banner. (Or type portal.twu.edu into the address bar of a web browser and hit the Enter key.)
- At the login screen, click Create One and enter the requested information (last name, SSN or Student ID, DOB, and password). The password MUST meet all of the listed requirements. If creating one on a mobile phone, select month, then the year, then day for DOB.
- Click the Create My Account button at the bottom to create the account. Please write-down or make note of your username that is presented on the results screen; this will be your email address and username to access all TWU systems.
- Once an account has been created, please wait about ten minutes for all account access to be created and pushed through our systems. The TWU Gmail account itself will be completed within 1-2 hours with no further action.
