Effective May 9, 2025
Overview
As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain the security of Texas Woman’s University’s digital resources, a new policy will go into effect on May 9, 2025, concerning inactive student accounts.
What’s Changing?
Effective May 9, 2025, any TWU Pioneer Portal student account identified as inactive will be disabled.
What is an inactive account?
An account is considered inactive if the student is no longer enrolled in any courses or programs at TWU.
What This Means for You
✅ If You Are Currently Enrolled
No action is required. You will retain access to your TWU account as long as:
-
You are currently enrolled, or
-
You are eligible to enroll (within your application/enrollment window)
❌ If You Have Graduated or Discontinued Enrollment
Account Type |
Expiration Timeline |
Reactivation |
Undergraduate |
15 months after the last semester of enrollment |

Graduate |
27 months after the last semester of enrollment |

These timelines also apply to applicants who have not enrolled within their acceptance period.
Important Notes
-
Last Login ≠ Account Activity
Logging in does not count as active enrollment. Accounts will be disabled solely based on enrollment status.
-
What Is Affected by Disablement
Students with disabled accounts will lose access to:
-
Student Employees Exception
If you are a student currently employed by TWU, your account will remain active for the duration of your employment.
✅ Steps to Take Before Your Account Expires
If you're no longer enrolled at TWU, we recommend:
-
Backing up important files and data
-
Updating recovery info on external services
-
If you've used your TWU email for other accounts (e.g., banking, job applications), update it to a personal or alumni email
If your account is disabled and you believe that you are still an active student, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 940-898-3971, servicedesk@twu.edu, techchat.twu.edu, or submit a request through the Technology Service Catalog.
Thank you for your cooperation.
This policy helps ensure our digital systems remain secure and are reserved for active members of the TWU community.
