Handbrake (Video Conversion Software)

Handbrake is a free video conversion software available for download at https://handbrake.fr/

Once the software has been downloaded and installed it allows for the user to select locally saved video files and convert them to a variety of different formats, this included DVDs. This is extremely useful for dealing with videos created on a different operating system than the current environment as it converts the files at a CODEC level.

  1. Select the video you want to convert (Handbrake calls this the "source")
  2. Select the format you want to convert the video to from the dropdown menu in the"Summary" section
    1. Also select any other features that the converted file will need such as "Web Optimized" or 5G iPod Support
  3. Click "Browse" in the lower right-hand corner to select where you want the converted video to be saved
  4. Once all the necessary fields have been set correctly, click the green "Encode" button to begin converting the file
