Handbrake is a free video conversion software available for download at https://handbrake.fr/
Once the software has been downloaded and installed it allows for the user to select locally saved video files and convert them to a variety of different formats, this included DVDs. This is extremely useful for dealing with videos created on a different operating system than the current environment as it converts the files at a CODEC level.
- Select the video you want to convert (Handbrake calls this the "source")
- Select the format you want to convert the video to from the dropdown menu in the"Summary" section
- Also select any other features that the converted file will need such as "Web Optimized" or 5G iPod Support
- Click "Browse" in the lower right-hand corner to select where you want the converted video to be saved
- Once all the necessary fields have been set correctly, click the green "Encode" button to begin converting the file
