Technology Troubleshooting 101

Web-Based Applications

  • Clear cookies, close the browser, try again
  • Is another (non-@twu) account logged in to the browser?
  • Try incognito or private browser
  • Try a different browser
  • Log on with username only (no @twu.edu appended)
 

Hardware

  • Restart
  • Hard reboot
  • Unplug and plug it back in
  • Run updates
 

Network/Internet/Wifi

  • On Campus, no network/internet > hard reboot
  • Off campus, no internet/can’t connect to website > reboot router > speedtest
 

Hard Reboot

Press and hold the power button on the front of the computer for approximately 5 seconds > Wait 30 seconds > Push the power button to turn the computer on again
