Why can't I lock my computer?

The Lock option is disabled for classroom, lab, or public area to prevent users from locking a computer and keeping another others from being able to use it. ​Instead of locking the computer, log off.

 

On an employee PC, use the Start menu or Windows + L to lock the machine.
