What is mandated training and how do I complete it?

A mandatory/mandated training course is one that requires completion by an employee in order for the individual, their department, and the organization to remain compliant with a rule, policy, or piece of legislation.

Examples of mandatory training courses required of all TWU employees, include:

  • Recognition and Prevention of Sexual Harassment with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Training
  • TWU Ethics Training
  • Information Security Training
  • Bursar Cash Handling Training [Required for employees that handle cash]
  • Annual Statement of Confidentiality Training
  • TWU Employee Safety Training

TWU employees utilize the TWU Bridge app to complete their mandatory training requirements, most of which require annual or semi-annual completion. Some employees may be required to complete specialized courses as a requirement of their job due to the nature of their work.

We recommend that employees check Bridge every month or so to ensure that all assigned training has been completed. If an employee is unsure whether or not a training has been completed, they can navigate to their courses history within Bridge to verify completion. It is the responsibility of supervisors and managers to ensure that their employees have satisfied all mandatory training and monitor their completion.

Please refer to section III of URP 05.300 for further information on the policy for mandatory training.
