Configuring Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) for multiple monitors

Step 1: Connect to TWU VPN with Duo Security Two-Factor Authentication

Before connecting to a TWU desktop from any device, both Cisco Anyconnect and DUO Authentication must be installed and authenticated (instructions).

If you have not requested access, create a service ticket to gain access to your Remote Desktop (aka your on campus computer).

Step 2: Open Remote Desktop

  1. From the start menu, select Windows Accessories and double-click the Remote Desktop icon. If Remote Desktop icon is not on the desktop, click the start button and in the search box type mstsc.
  2. Click Show Options in the bottom left corner of the remote desktop window.
  3. Click on the Display tab. Under Display configuration, check the box that says "Use all my monitors for the remote session".
  4. Click on the General tab.
  5. Input the desktop TWU asset tag number followed by twu.fs.dew.twu (The asset tag number is the tag with the barcode.) For example: 000000twu.fs.dew.twu
  6. Click Connect. A login screen will appear. Use fs\username and your Portal password to log in to the remote computer. If a message pops up about the identity of the remote computer due to a problem with its security certificate, check the box that says “Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer”
  7. Click yes.
