BYOD Printing

Summary

Print virtually any document or web page from your Internet connected device to one of the Denton printers in the Blagg-Huey Library, and the Guinn Commons Lab.

DENTON CAMPUS

Students can now print from their personal laptops, tablets, and phones to designated printers at the Denton campus. 
The following locations have BYOD printing capabilities:

  • Guinn Commons Lab
  • Blagg-Huey Library (Printers A and B, first floor)
  • ASB 107
  • Lowry Woods 009
  • Pioneer Hall 104 and 105
  • Parliament Village 120
  • Student Union at Hubbard Hall 1st Floor
  • Woodcock Hall 107

To print from a personal device

  1. Navigate to bit.ly/twuprint
  2. In the User Info box, enter your TWU email address (username@twu.edu) and TWU username.
  3. Upload the document to print to by clicking Browse in the Select Document box.
  4. A pop-up will appear.  From the pop-up, navigate to the location on the computing device where the document is located. 
  5. Choose the document to be printed then click Open.
  6. To print the document click the green printer icon under the Select Document box.
  7. The browser will load to a new screen that indicates that the request has been processed and will give a code to obtain the document at the release station in one of the above-mentioned labs.  This code is also sent to your TWU email address.
  8. Wait at least 10 minutes.
  9. Go to the preferred release station and tap your TWU username.
  10. A keyboard will appear to type the code into the text box.
  11. Tap return on the keyboard.
  12. Choose the document, then click Print. The document will be printed.

DALLAS CAMPUS

Students can now print from their personal laptops, tablets, and phones to a designated printer at the Dallas campus. 
The following location has BYOD printing capabilities:

  • 6th floor Computer Lab (Printer 1)

To print from a personal device

  1. Navigate to www.printeron.net/twu/dal
  2. In the User Info box, enter your TWU Username (Username@twu.edu).
  3. Upload the document to print to by clicking Browse... in the Select Document box.
  4. A pop-up will appear.  From the pop-up, navigate to the location on the computing device where the document is located. 
  5. Choose the document to be printed then click Open.
  6. To print the document click the green printer icon under the Select Document box.
  7. Go to the preferred release station and tap your TWU Username.
  8. Select the document and tap Continue.
  9. Tap Print.
  10. The document will be printed from Printer 1 shortly after the message: “Your request has been processed” appears. Please keep in mind that larger documents will take a longer time to print.

Black and white double-sided printing is covered by the student technology fee. The expectation is that students will not use printers to make copies. There is a copy machine in the Student Union and a few copy machines in the Library on the Denton campus.

Color printing is $0.15 per page and is currently available in the Denton library computer lab. BYOD printing is also available in ASB 107, Blagg-Huey Library 1st Floor, Guinn Commons Computer Lab, Lowry Woods 009, Pioneer Hall 104 and 105, Parliament Village 120, Student Union at Hubbard Hall 1st Floor, and Woodcock Hall 107
