TargetX Access and User Guide

Summary

Guide reviewers through reviewing applications efficiently in TargetX.

Body

TargetX is used to review and manage student applications for academic programs.

Access Requirements:

  1. Request Access
    • Contact your supervisor or Dr. Ruth Johnson (rjohnson12@twu.edu), to submit the access request on your behalf.

Logging into TargetX

  1. Navigate to https://txwomans.my.salesforce.com/ 
  2. Login using: 
    • Click Google SSO 
    • TWU Email and TWU Password
    • 2-step verification (passcode)

Navigating the System

  1. Click the Applications tab.
    • All Applications: View all submitted applications
    • Applications Reviews: Applications ready for your review
  2. Filtering: Use filters to view only applications for your program

Viewing and Managing Records

Reviewing a Student Application

  1. Click Applications Reviews: select an application review number
  2. Click Read Application to open the file
  3. Hover over Checklist → see completed and incomplete items.
  4. Review these sections:
    • Demographics
    • Academic Information (degree sought, last 60-hour GPA)
    • Education History (all schools attended)
    • Transcripts 
    • Essays/Resume/Statement of Purpose
    • Recommendations

Use Scorecard and Decision

  1. Click the Scorecard tab.
  2. Complete all required fields
  3. Make a decision:
    • Approve: Application meets requirements
    • Deny: Confirm with chair/director first
    • Send Back for Review: If more info is needed
  4. Add notes explaining your decision.
  5. Click Submit 

Best Practices

  • Only review applications assigned to you.
  • Use filters to view only your department’s applications.
  • Check the Checklist before reviewing.
  • Maintain FERPA confidentiality; do not share sensitive student information.
