Rules and regulations for determining residence status for tuition purposes in the State of Texas are specified under Title 3 of the Texas Education Code. An out-of-state student or a student whose residency is undetermined through the Apply Texas application will be classified as a non-resident student for tuition purposes. To petition for residency reclassification, you must complete the core Residency Questions and submit them to the Office of the Registrar.
