Payroll Deadlines
The Payroll calendar identifies approval deadlines and pay dates for each payroll cycle. Please select the payroll schedule that applies to your position and follow the corresponding deadlines.
Why are payroll deadlines important?
Payroll deadlines ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Departments are responsible for ensuring that:
- Time reporting is entered and submitted by the published deadline.
- Leave is reported accurately.
- Timecards are reviewed and approved by the payroll approval deadline.
- Any payroll changes are submitted timely for payroll processing.
Note: Missing a deadline may delay payment to a future payroll cycle.
Payroll Schedules and Deadlines
Employees are paid on different payroll cycles based on their position and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classification. Knowing your pay cycle will help you understand when your time must be submitted and approved, and when you will receive your paycheck.
How do I know which payroll cycle I am on?
Monthly Payroll
You are paid on the monthly payroll if you have an exempt (salaried) position. Exempt employees are paid a salary and are not eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Examples: Exempt salaried Faculty and Staff
Semi-Monthly Payroll
You are paid on the semi-monthly payroll if you have a student assistant/work study position, graduate assistant or non-exempt (hourly) position. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Examples: Student Assistants, Graduate Assistants and Hourly Staff
How can I verify my payroll cycle?
To determine your FLSA position status (Exempt or Non-Exempt):
In Oracle Cloud Choose: Me > Personal Information > Employment Info > Job Details > Overtime Status.
