Change View option for Icons on a Mac

  1. Click the desktop background to activate Finder.
  2. Click View in the menubar and choose show view options.
  3. Click the checkbox next to Show Icon Preview to load a preview of the icons.
  4. Uncheck it to load an icon of the application it opens with.
  5. Click  X to close out of the Finder View Options.
