Wills and Living Trusts

One of the benefits of making a bequest in your will or living trust is leaving a lasting legacy to be remembered. A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. You can talk with your Advisor to include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to Texas Woman’s University.  There are several options available:

  • You can gift a specific dollar amount or asset.
  • You can gift a percentage of your estate.
  • You can gift from the balance or residue of your estate.
  • You can make a beneficiary designation of certain assets.

Beneficiary Designations

With a beneficiary designation you name the TWU Foundation as a beneficiary to receive assets such as retirement plans, investments, bank accounts, and life insurance policies after you’re gone. Simply fill out a form that is entirely separate from your will making this form of giving easy and flexible since you can review and adjust the designation at any time. Your Financial Advisor can supply specific forms for your use.

Real Estate

A generous gift of real estate can help TWU for years to come. A benefit to you is you don’t have to hassle with selling the real estate yourself. You can deed a property directly to the TWU Foundation or ask your attorney to add specific language in your will or trust agreement.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A gift that allows you to support TWU Foundation’s work while receiving fixed payments for life is a charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity involves a contract between you and TWU Foundation where you agree to make a gift to the Foundation and TWU, in return, agrees to pay you (and someone else if you choose) a fixed dollar amount for the rest of your life.

Payroll Deductions

Employees of Texas Woman’s University can make their gifts to the university through electronic payroll deduction. Existing payroll deductions automatically roll over at the end of each fiscal year for the donor’s convenience unless the donor specifies otherwise.
