TWU Email on Windows Phone

Windows Phone 7 allows users to sync Exchange email, calendar, and contacts. Please review the following information.

• Email- Select Email to sync Exchange email.

  • Send and receive Exchange email.
  • Send and receive Exchange meeting invitations.

• Contacts- Select Contacts to sync Exchange contacts.

  • Access contacts in Exchange.
  • New Exchange contacts created on Windows Phone 7 are synced with Exchange and are then available in Outlook and Outlook Web App (OWA).
  • Recommended for Exchange users to maintain an up-to­date list of contacts in Outlook or OWA Windows Phone 7.

• Calendar- Select Calendar to sync Exchange calendar.

  • Access Exchange calendar.
  • Create appointments.
  • Create and receive meeting invitations.
  • Recommended for all Exchange users.

Configure Windows Phone 7 for Exchange

  1. If the user has a tile named Email setup on the home screen, tap Email setup. Then skip to step 6.  Otherwise, follow the steps below.
  2. Tap the right arrow button on the home screen to view the app list.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Email & Accounts.
  5. Tap Add an Account.
  6. Tap Advanced Setup.
  7. Enter the user's email address in the Email field. The user's email address is: [user's Pioneer Portal username]@twu.edu
  8. Enter the user's password in the Password field.
  9. Press Next.
  10. Press Exchange ActiveSync.
  11. In the Domain field enter "pioneer" for a student or "fs" for Faculty/Staff.
  12. Enter owa.twu.edu in the Server field.
  13. Ensure there is a check mark next to Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection.
  14. Change the Account name to Exchange. (This will be the name of your Exchange email tile.)

Optional changes:

  • By default, Windows Phone 7 will retrieve email messages that are three days old (or newer). To change this setting, press the Download email from field and select a new time interval. To synchronize all Exchange email with your device, select any time.
  • By default, Windows Phone 7 will synchronize Exchange email, contacts, and calendar. To use Exchange calendar user must also sync Exchange email.

When all steps are done, press Sign ln.
