Voicemail ACD Phone Set Up Denton Campus

Tags faculty staff

Set up voicemail:

  1. Call the voicemail system extension 4646 (from campus) or 940-898-4646 (off campus).
  2. When the system answers press # to access voicemail. A mailbox number is 81 + a 4 digit extension.
  3. When the system prompts for a security code enter 1234. The system will prompt for a new security code between 4-10 digits. It cannot be the same or similar to the phone number.
  4. The system will prompt to record a nametag. This is a name or name and department only.
  5. The system will prompt to record a greeting. This will play for callers when they reach the voicemail.
  6. When finished, hang up.

Set up when voicemail will answer:

The phone system will automatically direct any incoming calls based on the current phone status. Do not change any of the settings within the client that pertain to voicemail.

If the phone status is set to (Available or Available/ No ACD, Available/Follow Me) then all calls will ring first, and if not answered, go to voicemail.
If the phone status is set to any other status (Away from desk, Gone Home, At Lunch, etc.) calls will automatically go to voicemail.
