Housing Areas ONLY. Any other areas must be submitted to ID Services.
Hi there! We know you're probably in a hurry, but this information will make your request smoother, faster, and more accurate.
You're here for one of two things, and here's some knowledge on how to do each one:
You CANNOT request access for yourself
- Department heads and department administrators are the two folks we like to hear from. This keeps everything consistent, secure, and in compliance with TWU policies.
Requests for access for an individual:
-
To request access for a single person:
-
TWU ID (9-digit) is required
This can be found on the person’s ID card or by looking them up in Colleague or via
ID Query.
-
Requesting access to multiple areas?
→ Use the “Additional Information” section to list all required buildings or spaces.
-
Be specific about the door!
→ Door numbers are typically located on the top edge of the card reader.
If you're unsure, describe the location clearly (e.g.,"External Commons entrance next to the computer lab").
-
Need to remove access?
→ Just type “REMOVE” in front of the door numbers in the Door Access line.
Group Access requests
-
In most cases, access is managed through groups based on roles (e.g., "Austin Hall Residents", “Summer Move-In Crew”).
-
This simplifies tracking and changes.
-
It’s easier to manage than assigning access one door at a time.
Format for Group Requests (attach in Excel):
Name | 9-digit TWU ID | Group Number
---------|----------------|--------------
Jane Doe | 912345678 | 1170
Now that you're ready, click where it says "REQUEST ACCESS" in the gray bar to the right of the instructions.
