Cybersecurity starts with people. Every email we send, every file we share, and every system we access plays a part in protecting Texas Woman’s University and the information entrusted to us.As the new academic year begins, all employees are encouraged to complete their required Information Security Awareness Training as soon as possible in Bridge. The annual training provides practical guidance to help employees recognize and respond to cybersecurity threats, protect sensitive information, and use university technology responsibly.
Why Is Information Security Training Important?
Cyber threats continue to evolve, and higher education remains a frequent target for cybercriminals. Completing your annual training helps you:
- Recognize phishing and social engineering attacks.
- Protect student, employee, and university information.
- Identify common cybersecurity risks.
- Practice safe and responsible use of university technology.
- Help reduce cybersecurity risks across the university community.
August 31 Reporting Deadline
Texas Woman’s University is required to report annual employee cybersecurity training completion rates to the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) by August 31. Annual Information Security Awareness Training is required under Texas Government Code § 2054.5191 and is further supported by TWU URP 04.725, Information Security and Privacy Awareness and Training.
