Summary
Facilities Management & Construction, along with Information Technology Solutions have worked to create a system capable of enabling all University end-users (equipment custodians) responsible for tagged assets (computers, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc.) to update the location, Asset Number, Description, date of installation, assignment, transfer or entry, etc. into a module of Oracle eBusiness, called iAssets.
Body
Assets
"Property Administrators" are responsible for collecting the information on the whereabouts of the departments' asset-tagged assets. The "Custodian" is the person who is actually using the asset-tagged asset. If you are moving departments, that asset stays with the department and you must request a replacement from your new Department Head ... OR ... have documentation from the previous department head, stating the asset can be transferred to the gaining department.
If an employee leaves the University, and does not have an immediate replacement, those asset-tagged assets are to be assigned to the Supervisor, until a replacement is on board.
"Property Officers" are the Department Heads, who are responsible for the asset-tagged assets assigned their team members and/or unit.
If TWU Property is required for work off campus, the Off-Campus form (attached to this KB Article) is to be completed and emailed to assets@twu.edu
