Panopto Lecture Capture in a TWU Classroom (Instructors)

Panopto is a lecture capture application that is used to create recordings of classroom-based activities that are made available for review by students in a course.

To record videos in a TWU Classroom:

  1. Before you get started make sure you have a course with Panopto enabled
  2. Open Panopto:
    1. Log into Canvas and open a course with Panopto enabled. Click Panopto Recordings.
    2. Click from Sign in using select TWU Portal Name and click Sign in.
  3. Click the Create button, click Record New Session, click Open Panopto
  4. Select a Folder, select the Canvas course to save the Panopto recording
  5. Enter a Name for the Panopto Recording
  6. If you are recording a PowerPoint Presentation
    1. Check Capture PowerPoint
    2. In the Preview Window, click PowerPoint
    3. Click Open a Presentation
    4. A pop-up window will open to select the PowerPoint file, click Open
  7. If you are recording the classroom computer screen
    1. Under Secondary Sources, uncheck Capture PowerPoint, check Capture the Second Screen (the monitor being projected)
    2. In the Preview Window check Enable Screen Capture Preview
  8. Click Record
  9. At the conclusion of the recording, click Stop
  10. Click Upload
