Zoom Getting Started

  1. Navigate to https://twu-edu.zoom.us/ 
  2. Click Sign in
  3. Select your TWU email account and click Next
  4. Enter TWU password and click Next
  5. Click Schedule a Meeting
  6. Enter the following:
    • Topic
    • Description (optional)
    • When
    • Duration*
    • Check if the meeting is recurring. 
  7. Security
    • Passcode: check to require passcode
    • Waiting room: check to enable waiting room
  8. Check Video options:
    • Host video on or off
    • Participant video on or off
  9. Check Audio options:
    • Telephone or
    • Computer Audio or
    • Both
  10. Check Meeting Options:
    • Enable join before host
    • Mute participants upon entry
    • Enable waiting room
    • Only authenticated users can join
    • Breakout room pre-assign
    • Record the meeting automatically
  11. Click Save. The meeting information is displayed.
  12. Add the meeting to your preferred calendar:
    • Google Calendar
      1. Click Add to Google Calendar and choose your TWU account
      2. Click Allow to give Zoom access to view and edit events on all your calendars
      3. Add guests and click Save
      4. Click Send to send meeting invitation emails to guests
    • Outlook Calendar (for Outlook Client)
      1. Click Add to Outlook Calendar (.ics). An Outlook calendar file (.ics) will be downloaded.
      2. Double click the Outlook calendar file to open it
      3. Click Invite Attendees to add meeting participants
      4. Click Send.

*Duration: if the meeting creator or host is a licensed user, meeting duration will continue as long as needed, even if attendees have a basic license. If the meeting creator or host is a basic user, meeting duration can only be 40 minutes. To determine the type of license, click the gray person icon and look for "Licensed" or "Basic" in the profile information. 

Share Meeting Information & Invitation

  1. On the meeting information page scroll to Invite Link.
  2. To the right click Copy Invitation.The meeting invitation information is displayed.
  3. Click Copy Meeting Invitation, and paste the information into appropriate communication such as email or chat tools.
